The Word -to-Action writing retreat is a one (1) weeklong poetry experience where poets, writers and students have the opportunity to workshop together new or existing work centered around the theme, climate action. All poets are experienced and may support young writers. Days are flexible enough to accommodate plenty of hiking (right out the front door), swimming, or contemplating in quiet alpine surroundings. Cathy Wittmeyer is your host for the week.
Writers visited from afar: Doug Van Gundy, Melissa Thomas-Van Gundy (WV, USA) and Romana Iorga (Lausanne, CH), and nearby Anna Ospelt (FL), John Huston (CH), Jennifer Carr (LA, USA).
Together, we created poems and essays and flash fiction and an exquisite-corpse-poem and we hiked and we ate good food (and s’mores) and we enjoyed music, played music, camp-fired and talked and talked and talked. We visited classrooms to write together. From May 18 – 25, 2025 on Eschenerberg, in Eschen, Liechtenstein, we enjoyed each other’s company and then we shared our work in a tower with students!
